Clothes That Make You Smile
Have you ever noticed that when you feel good in what you wear it REFLECTS in your attitude and your smile? When you wear workout clothes, you may feel focused on fitness and have the MINDSET of being active. When you are going to be doing yard work, you wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty because they’re not your best clothes. That puts you in the mindset of working in a way that you are not WORRIED about getting dirty because it’s expected. When you go to a business meeting, you wear clothes that make you look and FEEL professional. And when you wear something you think is PRETTY, you feel pretty! When you feel pretty, you feel confident and you SMILE!
Our clothes reflect not only our PERSONALITY, but our mindset for the MOMENT. When you change your clothes, you CHANGE your mindset. When I taught science, I went to school dressed in a specific manner that was considered business casual. As soon as I got home, I changed into my “at-home comfortable” clothes of a t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants. Immediately my mindset CHANGED. Have you ever felt that SHIFT?
Well the same thing happened when I saw this hot pink Wrap-Tie blouse on the rack at Buckle. At first the COLOR caught my eye. So VIBRANT that it just popped! I walked over to it, felt it, then took the hanger from the rack and looked at it. Absolutely STUNNING. But I put it back. I walked around and it was like the shirt was CALLING my name! I worked my way back over to the rack, eyed it all around without taking it from the rack, reached for it, and then . . . NO, I just couldn’t. I walked around some more and then I quickly turned around, walked straight up to it, and looked for my size. I MARCHED straight over to the changing room like a soldier on a mission and tried it on. Oh!!! Oh, Wow! This was gorgeous. I FELT gorgeous. That was it, it had me! The billowy SHEER chiffon split cape sleeves, the wide bands that wrapped around my waist! This was a KEEPER for sure.
Just the way it made me feel . . . . UNSTOPPABLE!!
Are you in a fashion RUT? Do you want something that is going to make you FEEL unstoppable? Pretty? SPECIAL? Maybe even powerful? Definitely confident! I tell you what, this top is it! It is so incredibly COMFORTABLE and can be dressed up or down. That is important! You can wear it with so many styles of long pants or a skirt. You can wear it with capris or jeans. No matter how you STYLE it, you will definitely be wearing it with a SMILE. How could you not?
