The Power of Influence
Do you know how much POWER your influence has? I went to the dermatologist this week, and was once again reminded of the influence I have on others. As I reflect on the conversation I had with my doctor and the genuine comments she made about me, I can’t help thinking about just how much all women influence others more than we may realize.
I may not have a big following just yet, but honestly, don’t we all influence those around us in some way?
We have those who look to us for inspiration in how we dress, fix our hair or makeup, how we walk and carry ourselves. But not only that, people watch our attitude! Have you thought about that? How you greet (or don’t greet) others, the small talk with a cashier or other people waiting in line. Do you take the time to help others reach an item on a high shelf, or are you in such a hurry that you don’t have time for others?
Oh yes, we all influence others in many ways!
And if you have raised children, you know the influence you have on them! Good or bad, they absorb it all. What we choose to do and say each and every day impacts others in some way.
People are observing you every day and YOU can have a HUGE influence on THEM.
What message are you sending out? Is it one you would be proud of or one you might be ashamed of?
I think we need to be more aware of what message we are sending others!
Have a fabulous week my friends!

All is Fair in Love & Waxing
Nose hairs are considered a natural air FILTER. Your nostrils are lined with tens of thousands of hairs that BLOCK germs, viruses, dust, and pollen from making their way to your lungs as you breathe. But sometimes you may want to REMOVE some of those hairs to give you a more clean, polished look. However, since these hairs have a very important function, people should ONLY ever target the visible hairs that they deem to be UNSIGHTLY. Waxing the outermost nostril hairs allows you to shorten only a few (or a little more) protruding hairs. As a result, the MAJORITY of hairs remain intact and able to protect the airways.
Why Do You Lie To Me?
Do you ever get TIRED of people lying to you? Maybe you feel like everyone is lying to you ~ a conspiracy theory that everyone is out to get you. But what about when it's one or two particular people that lie to you - right to your face - over and over again? When it's an acquaintance it is so much easier to DISMISS it, just turn and walk away never giving it another thought. They’re just not worth your time. You can just consider that a flaw in their CHARACTER - a real lack of integrity. No moral compass. That doesn’t make it right, but it’s not anything to worry about.
Let’s Get Popping With A Popcorn Bar!
Are friends coming over? Need to add a twist to a party? Is it your turn to provide snacks for a group? Well if you answered YES to any of these I’ve got you! A simple popcorn bar! wanted something SIMPLE but awesome. I didn’t want to spend an incredible amount of time making or shopping for something. What would seem UNEXPECTED to come in with that would give a WOW factor, but be so ideal that people could walk away saying, “I can do that!” A popcorn bar!
“What’s Up Jack?” Chicken Casserole
This casserole is incredibly delicious and simple! “What’s Up Jack?” Chicken Casserole is full of flavor, takes only 8 ingredients to make, and doesn’t require much effort at all! Juicy chicken, tender pasta, crispy bacon, melty cheese. . . .need I say more? How about the creamy sauce. . . .oh yah!
Reviving A Chair To Fit My Style
Do you have a piece of furniture that is either in DESPERATE need of repair or just doesn’t fit your style, but is still functional? Maybe you’ve seen something at a yard sale or thrift store that catches your eye, but needs a little MAKEOVER.
I have a chair that I had already RESURRECTED with a lovely black and white polka dot fabric that ….well, let’s just say that it looks like a rabid dog got ahold of it, but it was just children who didn’t RESPECT what belonged to someone else. As you can see from the first picture above, it was either to put it out of its misery at the landfill or REVIVE it yet once again. I chose the later because I still saw POTENTIAL in it.
Let’s Talk…..What Are You Passionate About?
PASSION, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is an intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction, OR a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept. Are you passionate about something? Just think of the INFLUENCE someone can have because of their own personal passion for something.
So WHAT are you passionate about? What is it that brings you JOY and fulfillment?
I think Jon Bon Jovi says it the best: “Nothing is as important as passion. No matter what you want to do with your life, BE PASSIONATE.”
Barbecue Hawaiian Chicken
This dish will take you to paradise with its combination of sweet pineapple and crisp vegetables mixed with the spiciness of jalapenos, all coated with the richness of barbecue sauce! It is so quick and easy to throw together and get you on your way to your own private luau.
Let’s Talk… How Lucky Are You?
I do consider myself lucky in many ways, it’s just not what I was thinking when I chose to wear them. I was just sporting my “March…..Irish….St. Patrick’s Day” comfortable leggings with the GREEN plaid scarf to emphasize the silent celebration of my HERITAGE as a Scott-Irish.
There are people in our world, in our communities, maybe even our neighbors who can’t say yes to very many of these. Think about the HOMELESS. The REAL homeless. They’re the ones making due with what they have and not trying to hustle anybody for help.
Are you LUCKY? It’s not about our possessions, it’s not about our standing in the community. It’s about being THANKFUL for what we have. Being GRATEFUL and APPRECIATIVE.
Low Carb Enchilada Meatball Bake
Make Mexican cuisine as healthy as possible while still doing the meal justice with spices and incredible taste. For these meatballs I substituted ground turkey for ground beef and used oats instead of bread crumbs. The amount of enchilada sauce and cheese makes this so creamy and delicious! It can be served with rice, tortilla chips, tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes or any combination and it makes a complete meal.
The Original Love Letters
XOXO The Original Love Letters - we often use “xoxo” which stands for HUGS and kisses. It is a term of ENDEARMENT. But on this shirt, there are spikes/nails used to represent the X’s. Those are what attached Jesus to the wooden CROSS He hung from. The O’s are made out of rings of thorns representing the crown of thorns placed on (pushed into) Jesus’ head as He hung on the cross. The saying “The Original Love Letters”? YES, the spikes and crown of thorns represent the pain Jesus endured because He loves us! What a MESSAGE!
